Furniture Commission London

let the fun begin

Involving the client in each stage of the design process is crucial, like breathing. If possible I like to visit the client to see where the intended piece of furniture is to be situated. This is valuable in gathering the information I need about the piece: its purpose, size, and surroundings, the customer's tastes, and the budget or deadline we need to work within. Developing your requirements into a design and ultimately into a finished piece is a fascinating journey and I do my very best to make this an enjoyable encounter for all of us.

continuous improvement:

After our initial get-together I’ll go away to reflect about our discussion. I’ll then prepare designs for discussion, together with estimated costs. After full consultation with the client and any necessary design modifications, I put forward my final proposals. Once we have agreed on the design I can give you an exact cost of the work involved and an idea of when the piece will be ready for delivery.

buy buy baby...

Making furniture of the highest quality is not a quick process; often I will have a waiting list up to 6 to 12 months. If you have a special completion date we should discuss this at the start. At the point you wish to ‘add to your basket’, I ask for a twenty percent deposit, and work begins on making the piece. For me, this is as much a creative process as is the designing - I rarely work from rigid blueprints, so some details are left to the workshop rather than the drawing board.

is it real?

A ‘ Sasha Lacroix Certificate of Authenticity’ will endorse each completed piece along with an illustrative diary of the piece during its making process. This is presented in an enlightening photograph album. The whole difference between construction and creation is this; that a thing constructed can only be loved after it is constructed; but a thing created is loved before it exists. I like to capture as much of this process for yourself and for your future generations to come.

He who plants a tree plants a hope

"For in the true nature of things, if we rightly consider, every green tree is far more glorious than if it were made of gold and silver."  Martin Luther

As part of my guardiansoftheforest program, each client will also receive a gift voucher for a TreeTube™ . This is just one of some great ideas from Future Forests to help conserve our woodlands. With their new TreeTubes™, you can dedicate native trees in specially selected forests and your gift is presented in a Carbon Neutral tube.  Each TreeTube contains a commemorative certificate – for you to complete with a special message – and a map of the forest so it can be visited.  You can dedicate one tree in any of the ‘celebrity forest’ which are associated with bands and individuals who support Future Forests - and receive a specially designed certificate. Super.
